Are You Requiring a Spiritual Rebalance?

Do you often wish you had more time for all the things you really want to do?

Well, of course you do—we live our lives being, and doing, after all. Who among us hasn’t fallen into the more-is-better mindset, as we pack our calendars, and tell ourselves we’re happier this way.

But are we missing out on a little downtime just to dream?

Like me, you probably have oodles of lists, ideas, and inspired quotes etched in notebooks and journals sprinkled all over your house. Or maybe you keep them in just one place for easy access when you want a little respite from real life. These are the little prompts from a dream you had, or during your morning meditation, or maybe with that flash of insight you get sometimes in a pulse-beat of a busy day.

I dance everyday with a sea of notes-to-self, journal entries, and epistles—swimming through my house and in my mind. They abide in notebooks, journals, bookmarks, post-it-notes; you name it—whatever’s on hand to capture these little inspiration waves.

I like the idea of them floating around in my consciousness, so I leave them where I find them: on my nightstand, at my desk, on the whiteboard, and in the Equilibrium-blue notebooks I buy in bulk as a place for them to land.

I call them my Dream Sheets. Dreams, as in aspirations. Dreams that I want to follow. Dreams, that somehow, know my name. Dreams that whisper to my soul because I sense they’re a part of me.

When I find one of my dream sheets, it always intrigues me. Uplifted with anticipation, I read it thoughtfully—even if it’s nothing grand. Sometimes it’s just a smiley face note reminding me to buy fresh flowers, go over class notes, start a new blog post, or even arrange a day with no plans. I log them away and either act, or not, depending on my day.

Recently, I’ve accepted that taking time for myself can be hard. Yeah, I know, this is a bit ironic, as my mission is teaching others how to receive.

I sing the praises of making space for yoga, meditation, retreats, and practices that require us to slow down. I truly believe in, and relish seeing, the benefits they bring to me and my clients. I often remind my clients, after a session, to give themselves some credit for taking a bit of sacred selfishness to stay balanced and aligned.

Yet, every time I speak those words—selfishness seems to stand out. I see their eyes widening, oh, no, I don’t want to be like that. Who has the time or luxury of being selfish anyway? And if I’m being honest, my healer soul takes a little gulp when I use that phrase too.

But can we begin to shift this aversion to taking sacred time for ourselves—by considering the gift that time truly is? Maybe, by weaving the sacredness of Time into our daily lives, we can actually begin to wean ourselves from the feeling that we’ll never have enough of it?

I can do this all day long for others—offer space for them to receive what they need; so what makes it harder to arrange when it’s just for me? And as I treasure my client’s experiences, I’m holding tight to the promise that these wild and scattered dreams of mine are still waiting out there for me.

And that’s the art of balance, right? Finding the rhythm and rhyme that sets us free. Unfortunately, for most of us, something has to happen—before we recognize that the time for balance is Yesterday.

Yep, you’ll know a spiritual rebalance is required when you have no choice but to surrender to it. It’ll present itself to you when you’ve been going full speed ahead—giving, caring, and showing up for your families, friends, clients, and virtually anyone calling your name. It’s akin to the feeling of driving in your car, and suddenly slamming on the brakes—there’s the reality that you. cannot. go. anymore. And that’s how you know it’s time—when you absolutely NEED that space—to recharge and restore your powerful reserves.

This is where I find myself at the moment. My soul is requiring space. So thankful for the resources available for me to do just that, I’m taking time to rest and receive.

I’ll be waking up with my dream sheets and seeing where they lead me; maybe toward the completion of the 2 new astrology courses I started, integrating more of my metaphysical teachings, and spending time doing what I love: writing, journaling, posting and blogging on whatever at this moment is calling to me!

This is required space for my soul to simply be.

I want to sit with the joys and the sorrows of this last year, like being with my beloved dad every second I could be, and leading another empowering 5-day women’s retreat. I want to honor some of the things my dad and retreats teach us, like slowing down, and getting the rest we need.

If you’ve been blessed in your life, like I have, by someone whose soul meets yours in only loving and kindred ways—you know that in life, and even in its merciful and timely endings—that bond is timeless, and can’t be taken away. Yet, it is an ending that must be honored; like the closing of a chapter that you want to read and reread for a little while until you’re ready to begin a new page.

I’m taking this pause to reflect and to grieve, and also, to dream a little—about where and how I want to focus my energies next. And also because a yoga teacher and healer can’t be fully present when she keeps tearing up at the littlest things, like someone saying Namasté.

My wish for all of us in the midst of a rebalancing right now, is for downtime that includes reflection for aligning with who we are today. Our evolving souls are potently being recalibrated and realigned—awakening to new ways of being that will improve our lives and the collective lives of others. Don’t we want to be ready to implement our earned wisdom today?

So, if you’re yearning for space to discover all that nourishes you now—don’t wait until the decision isn’t yours to make. The world can get along little while without your help. Yep, it really can. You may even be sweetly surprised when folks tell you how happy they are for you to have a break. I predict that everyone who matters will understand and bless your space, just like they did for me.

And with that first sip of sacred selfishness, you’ll be watering our own seeds, and from your own dream sheets, perhaps granting yourself permission to love yourself as well as you love others. You’ll be healthier and happier too.

Remember, there’s no time like the present for balancing your soul.

Your emotional and physical health is up to you until it’s not.

Your dreams are yours to seek until they’re gone. Especially if your notes-to-self keep stirring a deep longing within you.

So for now, my calendar is open—and it feels like a big step. What will happen as I cede my schedule to my soul? Will I miss my regular pace? Yes, I probably will, but for now, this rebalancing feels like coming home.

Meanwhile, I’ll let you know how it goes, and hope you’ll follow along with me—right here, and on Instagram @equilibriumbycynthia

The Joy of Gratitude as Self-Care

Want to learn a SELF-CARE Secret for staying positive and joyful?

Hehe. 😊 I see the smile in your eyes—yep, you know this one already.

Because you’re practicing it right now, by simply reading this message, and by doing so, you’re onto one of my favorite healing tools of self care. ❤️‍🩹

The JOY of Gratitude.

And how GRATITUDE makes you feel SO GOOD to be ALIVE!

🙌🏼🙌🏽🙌🏾

You know that COMING HOME to JOY isn’t about turning a blind eye

to the STRUGGLES we each face,

the WOUNDS we need to heal,

or the troubling conditions we see others going through.

We’ve found that Gratitude is most definitely NOT ABOUT PRETENDING that we’re okay when we’re not, and that everything is perfect every day of our lives.

No! Because we know what perfectionism does:

It ROBS us of OUR JOY.💔

And Joy is happening ⬇️

In. This. Very. Moment.

Just pause and take a peek; it’s there.

Even in the darkness of shadows, the ravages of illness, and in that bone-deep sadness of temporary despair.

Yeah, we’re still gonna feel the setbacks, the events that stun us like a lazer—the aching losses of precious people, those evaporated hopes and dreams, the challenges with money, relationships, work, bills, and yes, these burdens will still be part of our lives.

But by focusing on

WHAT is PRESENT.

WHAT is GOOD.

WHAT is VALUABLE.

WHAT is REAL

and WHAT is GUIDING YOU toward THE JOY OF GRATITUDE—

you realize that none of the externals change—

YOU CHANGE. ✨✨✨

And you find—it’s easier to stay in a THAT HIGHER VIBRATION, better equipped to handle whatever comes your way.

Grateful for the WISDOM,

STRONGER for the struggles,

MORE COMPASSIONATE with others.

More BALANCED & AWARE.

That’s right, self-care does all that— it’s essential to staying bright.🌟

That’s why I’m so grateful holding space for your journey—BODY, MIND, & SOUL.

Because my mission is GUIDING YOU to YOUR JOY.

I invite you to experience the Joy of Gratitude with us here—through astrology, spiritual healing, yoga, and retreats.
